My Friends, remember last week when I was talking about styling a busy print with something simple?
Well, today we are doing pretty much the same thing again, but changing up the print, the colour palette and, of course, adding a little bit of Shelley sparkle! Haha!
Today’s OOTD is all about these animal print jeans from Temu, and if you have been wondering how to style animal print pants without making the whole outfit feel like too much, this is such an easy way to do it.
The trick? Let the print be the star and keep everything else fairly simple.
Well… simple-ish. You know me! There is always going to be some glitter, sparkle or bling sneaking in somewhere!
Starting With the Animal Print Jeans
Let’s start with the focal point of today’s outfit — these animal print jeans from Temu.
I absolutely love these jeans, and one of the reasons I think they are so versatile is because you can pair animal print with so many warm, earthy colours.
Think khaki, green, brown, black, tan, olive and so many other neutral and autumn-inspired shades.
Animal print may look like a bold choice, but honestly, I think it can be surprisingly easy to style when you treat it almost like a neutral.
And that is exactly what I am doing today.
The jeans are the busy part of the outfit, so everything above and around them is helping to balance that print rather than compete with it.
Keeping the Top Simple
My simple half of the outfit today is this sleeveless khaki top from Walmart.
And this is exactly what I mean when I say you don’t have to spend a fortune to look fashionable!
The khaki works beautifully with the warm tones in the animal print, while the simple style of the top lets the jeans remain the focal point.
Still on trend, still fashionable and, best of all, still budget-friendly.
You know I am always happy when fashion and affordability can live happily together!
The Details That Pull Everything Together
My belt of choice today is this brown leather belt with the gold buckle from DHGate.
Brown and gold work so beautifully with the earthy tones in the jeans, and I love how a belt can be such a small detail but still make the whole outfit feel more finished.
For my necklace, I went with my not-so-chunky chain of choice — this simple paperclip-style chain with a small pendant from Temu.
It adds just enough interest without taking anything away from the print.
And then, because apparently I cannot leave well enough alone… haha… we have the glitter sneakers!
Yes, My Friends, There Is Glitter!
My sneakers today are my gold glitter sneakers from Amazon.
Yes, my friends, they are happily stepping around in glitter today too!
But honestly, I think they work.
The gold picks up the gold hardware in some of my accessories and adds that little bit of sparkle that I absolutely love. They also make the outfit feel more fun and less predictable.
Because why wear ordinary sneakers when you can wear glitter?
Exactly!
My Bangle Stack Has New Surprises!
Now let’s talk about my bangle stack because there are some new surprises happening today!
If you have seen my bangles before, you know these are the ones that are screwed on, so once they are on, they are on!
The first three are from a private seller named Pink, and I have added two new surprises to the stack.
The third bangle is similar to the first one from Pink and came from DHGate, while the last one is another rose-gold addition, also from DHGate.
I love how mixing the different metals, finishes and details makes the stack feel collected rather than perfectly matched.
Rings, Bags and a Little More Bling
On my right hand today I am wearing this gold ring with a black Onyx stone from Temu.
And on my left hand is my Oura Ring, which is my health and fitness tracker.
For my bag, I chose this absolutely beautiful green bag from Temu.
My Friends, I could put this bag up against some really beautiful bags in my collection, and I am pretty sure this one would win the race!
I have this particular brand in several different colours, and the quality continues to surprise me.
From the faux leather, to the crossbody strap, to the hardware and even the inside of the bag — this bag is a true winner!
And I think the green works especially well with the animal print and khaki because it keeps everything within that warm, earthy colour family.
My Watch of the Day
My watch of choice today is this beautiful one — although, let’s be honest, all watches are beautiful to me!
Haha!
This one has a two-tone metal Jubilee-style band, black dial with diamond batons and a sparkly fluted bezel, and it came from DHGate.
Again, we have that combination of gold, black and sparkle tying everything together.
It is funny how all those little details can work together without making the outfit feel overly busy.
And Finally… My Sunnies!
Last but certainly not least, my sunnies of choice today are these beauties from Temu.
They have the gold and green arms, green frames and green lenses, and out of all the sunglasses I own, these are probably the most comfortable to wear.
And that is saying something because, my Friends, I have a LOT of sunglasses! Haha!
I absolutely love them, and I think the green is the perfect finishing touch with today’s outfit.
The Final Look
So there you have it — another example of how I like to style a busy print with simpler pieces.
The animal print jeans are definitely the focal point, while the khaki top keeps things calm. Then I brought in brown, green, gold and black through my accessories to create a warm, earthy colour palette.
And, of course, we cannot forget the glitter!
I think this is a great reminder that you don’t need to spend a lot of money to create an outfit that looks stylish, coordinated and put together.
Temu, Walmart, DHGate and Amazon all made an appearance in today’s OOTD, and I think that says a lot about how I love to shop — finding affordable pieces that look and feel like they belong in my wardrobe.
