My Friends, today’s OOTD is all about mixing casual and classy — and honestly, this is one of my favourite ways to get dressed! You don’t have to have a closet full of expensive clothing to create an outfit that looks polished, stylish and put together. Sometimes it is simply about taking the casual pieces you already own and adding a few little details that completely change the look.
And today’s outfit is proof of exactly that!
Starting With Casual Jeans
I started with these black carpenter jeans that I got from The Gap a few years ago. Now, you absolutely do NOT need carpenter jeans to recreate this look. Grab any regular pair of jeans you already have in your wardrobe. Black jeans, blue jeans, dark wash, light wash — whatever you love and feel fabulous wearing.
The whole idea is to take something casual, like a pair of jeans, and add pieces that give the outfit a little more of a classy and polished style.
Add a Blouse to Elevate the Look
With my casual jeans, I added this white blouse from Temu. And again, you don’t need this exact blouse! This is where I always encourage you to shop your own closet first.
Have a blouse in a colour you love? Try it!Have a pretty top that you haven’t worn in forever?
Pull it out!
And most importantly, choose something that makes YOU feel fabulous, because that is always going to look better than wearing something simply because someone else says it is fashionable.
White gives this outfit that clean, classic look, but you could absolutely use another colour and make this outfit your own.
Comfortable Shoes With a Little Sparkle
For my shoes, I went with my black glitter sneakers from Amazon.
Because, My Friends… as I always say, glitter has a way of making my step a little happy!
But you could absolutely wear whatever comfortable shoes you already have.I wear sneakers in so many of my OOTDs because, in general, they are what I wear the most. I need something comfortable that can handle the mileage I put on them most days, so comfortable sneakers it is for me!
But imagine this outfit with loafers. So cute!
Want to elevate it even more? Try sandals, heels or boots.
You might have the perfect pair tucked away in your closet already. Just try them with the outfit. You may surprise yourself!
The Little Details That Make a Difference
I also added this black leather belt with a gun-metal buckle from Winners.
It was super affordable, and I love how something as simple as a belt can help pull an outfit together.
Then came the pearls.
Oh, My Friends… my pearl strands today make such an interesting focal point!
These actually came as a set of two from Temu. Because they are so versatile, I can wear the larger strand by itself, the smaller strand by itself, or both together.
Today, I went with both strands because the neckline gave me enough space for them — so both it was!
Sometimes it really is just about looking at what you have and asking yourself, “What happens if I add this?”
My Rings and Bangles
On my right hand, I wore my Oura Ring, which is my health and fitness tracker. I actually switch it between my left and right hand quite often.
I always have some kind of health and fitness tracker on because I find them so interesting. I like keeping track of things such as my activity, steps and sleep.
On my left hand, I wore this Greek coin-style ring from Temu.
I have this ring in both silver and gold, but today I chose the silver because I thought it worked beautifully with the other silver details in the outfit.
And my bangles?
Well… they’re always there! 😂
I purchased these from a private seller, and her name is Pink.
A Watch Can Instantly Make an Outfit Look Classier
My watch of choice today is one of my all-time favourite accessories.
It has a silver jubilee-style band, a grey-slate dial and a sparkly diamond bezel, and I got it from DHGate.
Something as small as changing your watch can make such a difference to an outfit.
This one just added that little bit of classy sparkle that I wanted.
My Walmart Bag — Plus a Little Affordable Hack
For my handbag, I chose this beautiful small quilted-style black bag from Walmart.
I LOVE this bag so much!
Unfortunately, Walmart doesn’t sell this particular one anymore, so I can’t link it for you. I was just very happy that I bought it when I did!
You may also notice the little “S” attached to the bag.
This is such a simple and affordable little fashion hack that anyone can do.
I purchased the “S” initial at the dollar store. It was actually a keychain, and I simply attached it to the top of my bag.
That’s it!
It adds another little detail, makes the bag feel a little more personal, and cost practically nothing.
You don’t always need to buy something new to change the look of something you already own.
Sometimes a dollar-store keychain can do the trick! 😂
And Of Course… My Sunglasses
My sunglasses today have a silver frame and silver arms with a slightly mirrored silver lens, and these came from Amazon.
I love how they worked with the silver watch, ring and other accessories.
And that is another little styling trick I use all the time — repeating a colour or metal in different parts of your outfit can make everything feel more connected.
You Don’t Have to Spend a Fortune to Look Put Together
My Friends, this OOTD was so much fun to put together because it really shows that you don’t have to spend a fortune to look stylish, classy and put together.
Start with the clothes you already own.
Take your favourite pair of jeans, add a blouse, choose comfortable shoes, and then start playing with your accessories.
Add pearls.
Add a belt.
Add a watch.
Add a handbag.
Add a little sparkle.
Change the shoes.
Try something you normally wouldn’t put together.
That’s where the fun of fashion comes in!
And remember, you don’t have to recreate my outfit exactly. Take the idea and make it yours.
Because fashion isn’t about wearing exactly what somebody else is wearing.
It’s about finding what makes you feel amazing.
And My Friends, that is always the best accessory of all! ❤️
